You say it's your birthday!

August 2nd,  Joe's birthday...

We played a game with jelly bellies and you got to pick from 2 look alikes.  One was yummy, the other yucky.  Can you tell which one Moll got?

Lily got really lucky with her choices.

Not so much with Molly...

J-Man seemed to pick the correct ones...or he just hid his distaste.  Who knows?

Good food, fun, presents, and family.  We terribly missed Paddy, Crystal, Jackson, Logan, and Sarah.

Stewarts and Galls...before the move 2012

So...around the end of July and the beginning of August we went up to the lake.
Moll, J-Man, and kiddos were living up at the cottage.  They had their house on the market and were busy looking for a job.  We came up and had us a bunch of fun!
Joey is interested in anything that drives, works, makes noise, moves, etc.  He loves his little 4 wheeler and had much fun riding it into a dead end...and making the bush dead too.  :)

Mr. Snow brought over his "girls".  Lily loves dogs more than anything.  She is pretty darn happy holding this bundle of love.

Molly had moments of sheer exhaustion (and I don't blame her)  These wonderful and energetic kids can make a mom very tired.

Lily and Grammy were into puzzles and Lily found the last needed piece to finish her masterpiece!

J-Man and Joey took a ride on Sarah's cool 3 wheeler with...

Lily and Layla in the back!

Molly finds something to do with her moments of leisure...

And Layla gets a kick out of "Monkey Face Mommy".

We go out for a dip by Holy Island and Lily makes a leap!

Grammy, Joey, and Lily havin' a blast in the H20!

Joey doesn't look to happy, however, he did enjoy it.
Actually, he rather liked driving the boat with Grampy...he was naked as a Jaybird...Joey-not Grampy.

On Saturday, Boyne City has Farmers' Market and this time their was a dog show.
Lily was nutzo in the cabuttzo.  This the hotdog race.  Some of the crowd was a bit over excited.  And I don't mean the dogs.   And let me tell you...that thing about dogs looking like their owners.  It is SOOOO true.  (Wish I had some pics of that!)

Lily tried her hand at some of the dog games.

Joey found the playground way more cool!

Went to Marty's, East Jordan's Dairy Queen, and Layla partook of the vanilla cone.
Yum!

Lily was just happy to have been to the dog show with her dog shirt on!

At Marty's, they give out free cones to all of the Glendora's in the area.  How generous!!!

We end most days with rub a dub dub-  3 Stewart kids in a tub!

Galls called and stopped by for a couple of really fun days.  We went all over Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Indian River.  Here we are at Terrace Inn, after we pretended we were scoping out the place for a reunion.  We got to see many of the bedrooms and how they were decorated in different old fashioned decor.  Fun!

Terry and Ed's favorite was the candy store in Indian River.  Many thought that they were twins.  Do you see it?  Just one guy lookin' in the mirror at the other.  Right?

Such a fun visit with both families...and that's
LIFE ON THE LAKE!

Fun with Family February

Ever since Christmas, we have been trying to gather the cousins together and finally after sickie times, job fairs, bad weather and all, we met at Molly and J-Man's house for a short but fun time. (We missed Mokey :( however)
We arrived Friday afternoon and let the kids just play. Friday night Molly made a yummy dinner, while the snow picked up its strength outside. Dad and I had made reservations at a hotel so that we could take everyone swimming that night. So, after dinner, we climbed into our cars, with our bathing suits either on, or in tow. We arrived at the hotel to check in and low and behold, guess what was going on! A huge cheer leading convention...yippee. The pool was packed with giggly cheerleaders in bikinis. So...we turned around and went back to M and J's.
The next day we went to the Children's Museum and that was a hit.
Jackson was entranced with something...and so was his mom and dad.

Joey may be showing some musical interest.

Lily is scheduling appointments for a dentist.

Layla is getting down to the task of cleaning teeth.

Jackson and Layla are making a picture with shapes...

Logan is riding into the sunset...future cowboy?

Logan is "havin' a ball"...

Lily "gets down" with the guitar.

Lily has a quiet moment with the guitar.

Mommy and Joey cuddling..

Daddy and Logan cuddling...

The men sharing moments....

We leave the Grand Rapids Children's Museum with good memories.

The next weekend the Stewarts and Grandparents go up to the cottage and celebrate Layla's birthday. Layla wants ice cream for her birthday, not cake. She makes a wish and blows out the candles for her fourth birthday.

We have some snow...something that has not been seen very much this winter.

When Layla eats toast, she get to the center of things.

"MY- BOAT"

Talkin' 'Bout MY BOAT!

l
There is something so dear to Joe's heart...his boat.  We tease him constantly about this and you must know that he deserves it.  When we are up at the cottage and it hasn't been good fishing weather, I suggest that he go give his boat, appropriately named "My-Boat",  a big hug and see how "she" is doing. He usually does go.
My-Boat is a 30 ft. Tiara.  Actually it is 28ft., but, the platform on the back adds 2 feet.  He has added a hard top and a super GPS and fish finder.  It has seen many, many fishing trips and brought him lots of proud moments.  Many comment on what a nice boat that he has and he just beams.
And...talk about the way he compares every other boat to "My-Boat"!  "That boat is just a
Go Fast"  That boat is not as big as "My-Boat".  "My-Boat is much nicer than that boat"   " There is a boat like "My-Boat", but a little older."
Ahhhhh, a fisherman and his boat.  A true love affair!
