Fourth of July

Paddy, Crystal, Jackson, Logan, Sarah, and mom and dad were up here for the week. Oh, what fun!

We missed Moll, J-Man, Lily and Layla and Joey, but, they were back in Rockford with Jeremy's family.

Came back to the cottage and filled the week with wakeboarding, laughing at the kids, really good food, gorgeous weather and plenty of sunshine. Crystal brought yummy recipes to try.

My favorite was KFC biscuits for strawberry shortcake. (we added a little sugar for this)

Boyne City had a great Farmers' Market and an even better play structure for Jackson to enjoy.

Logan cracks us up with his smiles, zerberting, and laughing. When he smiles, he uses his whole body.

Sarah is on the computer talking with Charlton most of the time. She tears herself away when it is time to eat, though.

Patrick and Crystal treat her to lunch at Murrays and Marty's.

On July 5th, Crystal, Sarah, Logan, and I go to Petoskey for a girls' day shopping. Logan tolerates all of the shopping because he is not old enough to know that real cool guys don't like to shop. He will learn that quickly. We ate at Julienne Tomatoes and think that maybe a relative (Schilling) ran a feed store in that building a long time ago. Then we hit all of the great shops in the city. Sarah gets quite weary and finds energy in the chocolate cone that Crystal buys her. I get a parking ticket :( however, since I have no tickets on record in Petoskey...it was a warning...and that MAKES my day! :)

The men are in Charlevoix getting a new vacuum for the cottage, light bulbs, paint brush...all very manly items. That night, after a absolutely yummy fish tacos and corn dip, the men go to Green Hornet and soak up more testosterone.

The weather has been perfect, so we have been on the beach a lot. Many stones are thrown in the lake (cause that's what little boys do), lots of sun absorption (with a little help from sunscreen-we follow your advice, grammy) and good eatin'. Not bad for a fun vacay :)
